Number 1 (Australia) Pty Ltd was established in 2013, with a focus on superior brands for canine and feline consumption as a full-service distributor of natural pet products locally sourced from Australia and New Zealand. Our core brand, Ziwi Peak, has taken hold of the Australian market and is now ZIWI’s third largest market globally.
We also represent a range of innovative Australian brands including Healthy Everyday Pets, ONE with Everything, HempPet, Beasty, alongwith other well-respected brands, and will continue to expand our product offering.
Due to our growth this is a very important management role has responsibility for prospecting new business across Australia, through engaging with new clients and growing existing clients in the Vet sector and leading a small team.
Your main objectives will be:
Leading a small Veterinary Operations team, overseeing the daily operations of the high performance team, and working as an integral member, and leader, of the team.
Being proactive and self-motivated in expanding the reach of Number 1 in the Veterinary industry
Identifying and securing new accounts in the Veterinary field, with a focus on larger veterinary groups and implementing channel/account strategies and monthly work plans
To attend trade shows and conferences across Australia
Working with the Veterinary Operations team to educate and develop awareness of Number 1 brands and their nutrition benefits within the industry
Managing and developing selected new & existing brands entering the Number 1 Portfolio
Working closely with our National Sales Manager to develop growth plans for new and existing business
Acting as a brand ambassador for the superior brands Number One represents
Reporting key results to senior management
Providing regular reports to management on your activities, and forecasted results of those activities
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Proven experience in Business Development and Account Management, in a fast-paced environment, preferably with the veterinary industry
Excellent people and networking skills, and proven ability to rapidly build rapport and gain credibility
Industry experience either within the veterinary industry or animal sciences and be familiar with medical terminology is a must
Industry related experience in Pet Industry / Nutrition / Health will be definite advantage
The ability to carry a medical discussion, as well as a business discussion
Ability to be strategic and well planned in identifying market sectors and opportunities in the Veterinary industry, in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing teams, to secure new leads to expand the reach of Number 1 in the field
Compiling and drafting professional business proposals and justifications
Ability to work autonomously and as an integral member of your team, and other teams in Number 1
Excellent time management skills, both for your own role and for your team
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
Detail oriented, excellent organisational skills and goal oriented.
Reliable motor vehicle and full driving licence
Ability to travel interstate frequently
Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Biomedical Science, Business, Veterinary Nursing/Technology will be highly regarded
